About Me and CV

Alexandra Buckle, Born 1981, Oxford

Inspiration

Many of my linocuts are woodland themed. I enjoy walking my dog in the woods and I find them a constant source of inspiration to me. Living in Bicester I often go to Stoke Wood. This is a beautiful woodland only a few minutes drive away which is managed by the Woodland Trust. I also enjoy watery scenes, summer fields and wild flowers as themes for my linocuts. Most of the work is from scenes local to me, unless I have been lucky enough to get away on holiday :)

My Royal Academy success

Two of my reduction linocuts have been selected and hung in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. In 2011 my linocut Gold Pavilion was selected and in 2012 Sunlight Through Redwoods was chosen. In the exhibition catalogue in 2012 I was listed as Alexandra Olding, which is my married name.
I also passed the online submission in 2016 and 2015. I didn't manage to enter for 2017 as the entries had sold out by the time I went to purchase them.
