Lino Printing Classes

I'm pleased to announce that I can now offer dedicated linocut tuition at my home studio in Bicester.
Whether you are completely new to lino printing or want to improve a particular aspect of your work, you'll have my undivided attention!
My lino workshops can be on a 1-to-1 basis, or 1-to-2 if you would like to come with a friend.

Lino Printing Day Workshops

I'll help you plan, execute and complete a print in a day using the ‘reduction’ linocut method. This is a multi-colour relief printing technique which involves cutting and printing a few layers of colour from the same block of lino in order to build up an image.

We will cover how to plan a design and transfer it to the lino; how to cut the lino; how to ink up the lino and how to print it. I do have a small relief press and a larger press, but I normally show students how to burnish the prints by hand. This way you can easily replicate the process at home with minimal equipment.
You will also learn how to correctly register your prints so that each layer of colour lies directly on top of the previous layer.

Standard hours for day bookings are 10am-4pm. I charge £150 for one person for the day or £190 for two people (£95 each). This includes all your materials and as much tea or coffee as you can drink!

How to pay

You can pay for your workshop by bank transfer or cheque, or by clicking the PayPal links below.

Pay £150 using PayPal.me for a Single Person Workshop

Pay £190 using PayPal.me for a Two Person Workshop

I am happy to book a workshop with a part payment or for you to pay for your workshop in instalments.

Use PayPal.me to make a part payment towards a Workshop

Ideally the balance would need settling before the workshop date, and no later than on the day of the workshop.

Please contact me once you have paid to let me know which of the above dates you would like, or if you would like my details to make a bank transfer or cheque payment.

NEW!! Gift vouchers now available for private lino printing tuition

Are you considering buying lino printing tuition as a gift for someone? I can now offer hand printed gift vouchers that can be purchased for lino workshops. There is no need to book a date for the workshop beforehand unless you would like to.
You can pay for the vouchers using the same methods as above above; simply contact me afterwards to let me know that the payment is for a voucher.
I will then post the vouchers to you first class at no additional cost and you will also receive one of my blank greetings cards that you can write a personal message in. Or if you like I can send the voucher and card straight to the recipient; you may like to give me a personal message to write inside the greetings card.

Workshops for larger groups and demos

I can't easily fit more than two students at my studio. If you are interested in doing a lino printing workshop and there are three or more of you, please get in touch for prices as I can hire alternative venues, or perhaps you have access to a suitable venue?
I am happy to do demonstrations for groups and societies, please get in touch if you are interested.
