About my jewellery

I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2004 where I studied a BA(hons) Design: Crafts course. It was here that my love of working with silver, and an interest in jewellery developed. I have been designing and making jewellery and tiaras since I graduated and now have a small workshop at my home in Bicester. Throughout my creative education I had explored many different ways of creating an interesting and attractive two-dimensional image. The Design: Crafts degree was an excellent opportunity for me to explore working three-dimensionally with a wide range of materials. I soon found that I loved working with metal and I wanted to study it further. I particularly enjoyed the processes involved to cut and form the metal. As my confidence in metal-working grew, I began to work with silver as I love the precious qualities the metal can bring to a piece of work.

My jewellery designs range from those that are delicate and intricate such as my scrollwork earrings and pendants, to much bolder, striking work such as my sculptural rings and head adornment. The inspiration for my work comes from studying positive and negative shapes found in structures that are man-made, such as architecture and wrought iron, and structures found in nature such as flower shapes and butterfly wings. I transform my drawings of these structures into beautiful Sterling silver jewellery. I try to keep my work varied and unique, it is designed to be a talking point and to make the wearer feel exclusive.
